Bostany.com ships your flowers in well ventilated boxes, with ice packs and a water sponge to keep the flowers in the best condition possible during courier shipping. Also, starting July 2004 the flowers will be shipped in refrigerated containers to ensure further wellness of the fresh flowers. However, to make sure the flowers will survive for a week or two, you will have to take care for them on daily basis. Starting from the moment you receive them, take the flowers out of the packaging into a well ventilated and cool, shady place. Sometime the flowers wilt early. This is not due to the flowers being old, but rather due to an obstacle in the stem that makes the flower incapable of receiving water and nutrients. Fortunately, this issue can be solved with ease.

If the flowers are arranged in a pot with a green synthetic sponge, supply the sponge with plenty of water. Also, sprinke/spray the arrangement with plenty of cold water. Supply water to the sponge periodically.

If you've received a flower bunch, remove the green sponge (if available) and cut about 2 cm from the tip of the stems with a slant angle of about 30° (preferrably under water). Sprinkle cold water on the flower head and stem. You could, in addition, soak the flowers for 5 minutes in a water tub. Place the flowers in a vase with warm water with some sugar and carefully add a few drops of dilute (household) hydrogen peroxide (beware while handling hydrogen peroxide. Mishandling can cause blindness or permanent injury.) Replace the water on daily basis (essential). Also, make sure that lower leaves (close to the stem's tip) are removed. This is to prevent the leaves from being soaked in the vase water.

Place your flowers in a cool, shady region.
